Snuggle - A Safe Bet

When Alex gets aggressive with the cats, "patting" them too hard, pulling their tails and such, we encourage her to snuggle with them instead. Which means that she buries her head in the closest fur. She frequently snuggles with us (our knees, arms, head, whatever she's close to) but today took it to the next level.

She was "reading" one of her pop-up books today (http://www.amazon.com/600-Black-Spots-Children-Collectible/dp/1416940928) and decided to get a little more interactive with it by pulling the spots and generally whacking the book. It's that kind of book, really, but won't last long that way, so I told her in no uncertain terms that she was to be gentle with the book. She announced "snuggle", or more like "suggle" and buried her head in the book. She did this for almost every page.

Then Alex was playing with the trash can - how dare I put dried up pony tail palm leaves in there without letting her slash herself to death with them first? - and I scolded her, intending to pull her away if(when) she didn't listen. But in a moment that horrified/amused me, she declared "suggle" and put her head on the rim of the trash can. So cute/gross.

She has also started crossing her fingers and sucking on them while crossed. I have no idea why. But her middle finger was swollen from all the sucking today. :(
