Alex was at the doctor yesterday, just to check that her ears were ok since we put her on antibiotics for an er infection. She's fine. We waited forever in the waiting room, during which time she amused me by being shy to all the other folks waiting. It was down to just us and one guy in the waiting room. He was busy reading something, so no attention for Alex. But suddenly, to her great delight, he cleared his throat. This gave Alex the opportunity to fake cough her way all around the waiting room. Big fun for her, and I'll admit I was giggling a bit too, because it's too cute when she does that. As long as we don't acknowledge that it's cute, though, because someday she'll imitate the wrong cougher and get in trouble. Until then...
She had another rough night last night. She slept for a half hour, then cried for and hour and a half, then finally fell asleep. I tried patting her, tried Motrin, and tried leaving her lights on so she could play in the crib, but nothing worked. She finally just exhausted herself, and luckily slept through the night. I'm hoping that this phase ends soon, because I feel bad leaving her in there to cry, but otherwise I'm too darn tired to tolerate her the next day! It's like having a newborn all over again, minus the spit up.
