So, for an anticlimactic first blog in the new house...
Alex is working on potty training, and one of the important aspects of potty training is the hand washing. At the previous house, the faucet was too hard for Alex to operate, so I had to be there to turn the water on. But she can turn on the sink here, so she's pretty much on her own for the entire potty experience now. However, there's been one glaring problem with the new bathroom.
The mirror is right there for her to look at. She spends more time admire her own fabulousness than she does washing her hands, and the water runs and runs. Lovely.
Also, Gabe has learned that the full-length mirror in our room is fun to look into. He smiles and laughs at himself while he practices standing up, and we've also discovered he likes to be semi-dropped in front of the mirror. Apparently it's quite hilarious to almost fall on the floor repeatedly. Sure, whatever makes ya happy, kid.
I have also discovered that Gabe is alternately thrilled with and terrified of being tossed ever so gently in the air. So we'll wait a bit longer to make that part of our routine.
