Bowling Buddies
We went candlepin bowling the other day. It was Alex and Gabe's first try at bowling, but it turned out that, well, Gabey liked it, anyway. Alex dropped the ball a lot, Gabey got gutter balls because he wanted to, but mostly both kids kicked my butt. Sad really, but not surprising. We'll definitely go back for more bowling, but I'll take more snacks next time so that Alex has something to do besides complain that she's starving to death. And maybe we'll get Gabey his own lane so he can bowl nonstop like he tried to do the entire hour.

We headed off to Salem yesterday to do lots of not going into all the witch museums because the kids (Gabe) would go crazy. We did have a beautiful day, especially on the waterfront. Also, we and every other tourista got a good laugh out of the local liquor store. Not as good as the Bunghole Liquors we passed on the way there (eww) but close enough. Sorry about the out-of-orderedness of the pictures, but I can't be bothered to rearrange them.
Our First Catch!
I got the kids bug nets so they could pretend they're bugs and catch each other. (Well, not really, I've actually told them that's the thing the thing they can't do.) Alex managed to catch a very lazy and very large dragonfly instead.
